Interestingly Jack Thomas has played the last three games for Sittingbourne I assume on dual reg.I assume set up some weeks / months ago so Maxwell obviously has a good rapport with Smith.. Harris and Corey Davison also played for them last night.
Castle has not been involved at Royston for the last year or so.

Chris has done well at Sittingbourne, got his mojo back.I have a feeling though Ryan may stay reading his tweets etc .Personally l think he would be a really good fit .Did a excellent job at Braintree in his short spell of keeping them up and carried on his good work with Sittingbourne, also think he will be respected by the players

I heard Sittingbourne had the biggest budget in the league but still failed in the play offs, let alone winning the league.

Ryan took Sittingbourne from 3rd from relegation to play offs on a competitive budget but not as big as the as some others l was told. He did a great job saving Braintree from relegation, and reading various forums fans really seem to like him. Hopefully he gets a chance to build a side ,but anyone thinking we are going to win the league in his first season after this year and a rebuild is living in fantasy land ,we just need to be competitive again

I agree with sully, I think Ryan Maxwell would be an excellent appointment. Talking to some Braintree fans they really liked him and thought he did and excellent job there. Whilst a decent budget is important, it doesn’t guarantee you anything, as Scunthorpe proved this season in the National North. He also turned Sittingbourne around and it was only two individual mistakes (which no manager can be blamed for) in the play offs which cost them.
It will also be good to have an ex Stortford player in charge (although Ryan is also an ex player of virtually every non-league club in Essex, Hertfordshire and Kent). He is well connected and respected on the local non-league scene and it will be interesting to see who he recruits for next season. I’m also not expecting us to win the league next year but it would be nice if we were pushing for the play offs.
