No surprise but assistant manager Mark Hughes and first team coach Adrian Whitbread have left Stortford. Our results since they joined would indicate this is no big loss to the Club.
Over the next week i expect the first team squad to be cut back to the “bare bones”.

First through the exit door next players and money .Smithy I understand staying on if we have two players with no management experience taking over.Be like the last days of the 3rd Reich kids on the front line and no men left to fight lol 😂 Still let's try and upset those trying for playoffs ,in my dreams l know but hey

Think it's the right thing to do. No issue with Smith trimming back the squad either. He's ploughed a lot of money in and no point wasting money on the rest of the season when our fate is already known.

I'll not have a bad word said about Mark Hughes as a player. As a coach though, it seems there's a lot to desired. We picked up 10 of our 17 points this season before the change of coaches and, at the time, we were above Kings Lynn.
Those who want Steve Smith out and Rod Stringer back should remember that he's gone in at Welling with Kevin Watson because (in the past, at least) he didn't have the requisite coaching badges. My understanding, when Steve Smith came in, he didn't have the badges either. It doesn't mean to say neither of them know what they are doing and both of them may have man management skills that can't be picked up on a coaching course.
We still have 14 games to play, that's 42 points to play for. Mathematically, we could still get out of it but, being realistic (in the words of Private Frazer), we're doomed. I'd like to see us keeping as many of the players as we can until the relegation is confirmed .
