Didn't the club pay a fortune about 18 months ago to get the drainage sorted out (or is my memory playing tricks on me, again)?
Out of interest, does the club benefit from the "live coverage" (or the National League coverage)?

Yes but this rain has done for many grounds with decent drainage, the drains are overflowing with water .I believe we share 50/50 with money made on stream with coalville judging by the amount of people not going could be a lot More rain Thursday some heavy, might make Saturday also off ,although lots of dry weather Fri and Sat

My other question would be, if the game is being streamed, wouldn't it have been a good idea to open up the clubhouse and screen it there? It's not like it would be in use tonight otherwise.

I'm not sure there's a lot of point dwelling on the ifs, buts and maybes of moving the game etc. I've got some lunatic bombarding me on Whatsapp about what a bad decision it was. But with under 48 hours notice and the threat of another midweek trip to the grim north, BSFC's hierarchy did what they felt was best.
I'll take back much of what I said about referees. He was beyond abysmal. He decided the game in the 12th minute.
This season is over, on Feb 20. It was also the 17th anniversary of Andy leaving us. With no work todau, and a big Trophy tie, I'd planned a series session. Instead we got a shitty night in Aveley - a soulless craphole with a main stand that resembles a car showroom - and that sums our season up. From the moment we won the Isthmian, if it could go wrong, it has gone wrong. I'll keep going to the home games (and I might even go to Tamworth on Good Friday) when I can but this wasn't the way the celebrate our 150th anniversary.

It was difficult to see from the other end of the ground whether or not it was a red card, but my instinct tells me that he has pulled him back, and he was the last man so if he has indeed pulled him back, he's going to get sent for it.
I have moaned about referee's a lot this season, but this one was by far and away the worst of the lot. Beadle gets fouled down the left, and he gives them a free kick. Osman got clattered by their keeper attempting to make a save and making no contact on the ball from the shot that went wide. Osman again dragged back three times before getting a shot away, that has to be pulled back. Spider got clattered early second half, and we get a free kick but it is the most obvious yellow card there is, went unpunished. He was an absolute disgrace.
The performance after regaining balance from the red until half time was pretty good, in fact I felt that we were the better team and created the better chances. However, yet again for the 50th time this season, we switch off defensively. How on earth can a simple short corner and a pass to an open man in the area happen? IF we are down to 10 concentration has to be at a maximum, but goals like that are given away, it is criminal. This season when we have gone a goal down we have caved in and the same happened again. I am sick of it, it was absolutely rubbish from then on.
The thing that has bothered me the most this morning is at the end of the game, everyone but two players went straight down the tunnel. Gidds came to within 40 yards of the fans that stayed behind the goal until the end, and Jack Thomas made the effort to shake hands with all remaining. The rest of them disappeared, that is completely unacceptable. A solid supporter base have stuck with this team this season when it has been dreadful, and have made the extra hour journey at short notice the very least you can do is show your appreciation as a squad.
The whole evening felt weird, it was like nobody from either team wanted to be there and I thought the atmosphere was shocking. I do wonder if the FA enforced us to play the match last night? There's still 2 and a half weeks before the next round so I would have thought next Tuesday it could have been played weather permitting at our place?
Season over in mid-late February, nothing to look forward to now at all. I will continue to go to the home games too, but the buzz for it has now gone.
Critical summer incoming too, I very much doubt the large majority of players in this squad will sign up for next season, the rebuild is looking like a massive one.

Can only echo what's been said above regarding the ref. It was so bad it made you genuinely question the integrity of the game. The penalty on Osman was, for me, the worst of the bunch. An awful 'tackle ' by the keeper, long after the ball had gone. An absolutely disgusting decision with zero mitigating factors. It was right in front of him. Nothing short of cheating.
As to the game...thought we were excellent first half in coping with the red. In fairness, it was a well worked corner routine, but still poor from our perspective.
From there, I thought our bench panicked, unfortunately. 1-0 down, with 10 men. Just don't concede again. Keep in the game, and gamble last 10. We made changes immediately, changed shape again, surrendered the middle of the pitch (again) and became very easy to play through (again).
Depressing. I rarely take defeats in football badly these days, but this one really hurts.

I think there was little doubt we were pushed into playing it somewhere - anywhere - last night. Wealdstone switched their game to opponents Hendon, although obviously they're in sneezing distance of each other, they still got a decent crowd and they won 4-0. Yes, it could have been played next week. Maybe scheduled for Monday at BSFC and then Thursday at Coalville if that was off. Would it have made any difference? We'll never know, I'm not fussed about players clapping fans and most behind the goal had gone anyway, but there's not a lot of spirit left in this team after six straight defeats and ten in the last 11. I'm not sure it mattered when/where/how/if we played the game.

I wonder what shape rebuild for next season is .Personally I think nothing we will just let the season fizzle out ,be a few more big crowds of away fans ,so least some money coming in .I suspect the rebuild we start in the Summer with a few new players and a big exit door. Can't see much management changes, think Smithy would like another go after this season at a level he has proved he can do well at .who knows it's football anything can happen. Still God willing get my season ticket because l love the club as we all do

Bitterly disappointing last night, particularly in the second half. Coalville were a workmanlike side but nothing special. If it had been 11 v 11 I would have fancied our chances. I thought there best player was Terrell Pennant had a serious turn of speed. Not sure what he is doing playing for them given he spent nine years at Leicester City before being released. Our half time team talk seemed to have the reverse of the intended effect as we were so much poorer in the second half. Once they scored from a well worked training ground move from a corner we never looked like getting back into the game. In truth we went out with a whimper rather than a bang.
I expect the rebuild to start now. Smith knows we are going down so why waste any more money this season? I expect the squad to be paired back to the minimum immediately with a few youngsters from the academy getting the chance to warm the bench. The rebuild will need to be massive as I think a few old favourites such as Haines and Robbins are past their best. Some quality players left after our promotion and I had hoped we may see them return next season but it may not be that easy. I see Billericay have already got Frankie to sign on for next season with them.

The kind of player we need to attract for a promotion push won't be available until the summer. The only players we'll attract now are youngsters who just want to play at Conf North level (or above) and see this as a chance to get seen, but more probably loan players from L1/2 clubs whose club want them to get experience and don't want much in the way of wage contributions. Next season's team will bear little resemblance to the one that finishes our joy-filled time in Conf North.
